I work with small and micro businesses to support a variety of needs, from operations and software management to social media and podcast production.

I’ve supported clients in the retail, restaurant, and education industries, and my favorite projects are those that mix consulting, creativity, and activism.

I’m located in Raleigh, NC, and regularly work with clients across the state. I am also available to work remotely.

Abby Virgil

I understand niche needs of small business owners, because I am one. The work I do is uniquely informed by my entrepreneurial experience as well as lessons I’ve learned from my time working for multiple Fortune 500 companies with more than 100,000 employees. Regardless of company size, I have consistently found success by placing professionalism and creativity on equal ground. In short, my work is both an art and a science.

This is the philosophy that drives how I support my micro and small business clients: I fill in the gaps between dreaming up big ideas and managing microscopic details so that you can both achieve your business objectives, and execute your most creative visions.

Related to this work, I co-founded Fried Green Tomato Media (FGTM) in 2024 in my home state of North Carolina. Our vision is to make knowledge-sharing accessible, creative, and compelling by developing and distributing digital projects from new storytellers. Within FGTM, I lead on business and operations, and also am a content creator for two of the company’s publications: Red State Reboot (a political comedy podcast) and LACarolina (a monthly newsletter connecting North Carolinians to Latin America).

Prior to founding FGTM, I spent five years working in corporate government affairs and public policy in Washington, DC. I speak Spanish and have traveled, worked, and studied across the Western Hemisphere, with special passions for Chile and Mexico. I earned my M.A. in Latin American Studies / Political Economy from Georgetown University, and my B.A. in Philosophy and Spanish from Wake Forest University.
